The Unique Homestyle Foods story is very simple… in the early 1990’s the growing demand for our signature homestyle carrot and walnut cake, banana cake and muffins as retail items quickly saw the facilities of our kitchen at a prominent daytime city cafe stretched beyond capability.

The decision was made to set-up a small baking facility close to the city to ease this situation with the further decision to basically wholesale instead of retail some small period afterwards. This was the start and formation of Unique Homestyle Foods… ‘Unique’ as in something individual and outstanding and ‘Homestyle Foods’ as the type of product that demand had influenced our change of business direction and would dictate what was to follow.

The small initial selected range of products continued to grow as did our customers and distribution areas. Unique Homestyle Foods has always sourced and developed its own recipes and has maintained and sustained ‘the flavour’, quality and deliberate product points of difference through careful selection of ingredients and their baking.

We are thankful and reflective that our good business decisions and strategies have maintained our growth and have seen our product list grow to satisfy even more customers. Our purpose fitted large bakery at Deacon Avenue, Richmond is now one of South Australia’s largest and is central to our operations which sees us deliver daily as far as Gawler in the North and Aldinga in the South. We also distribute to country regional areas and interstate in our ever increasing capacity and capabilities.

Unique Homestyle Foods is HACCP accredited and has been since its inception as a food safety and quality monitoring and manufacturing mechanism. Our continued diligence in the preparation, cooking, baking, refrigeration, storage and delivery procedures and aspects provide the highest standards of safe food handling practices and procedures to customers.
